Are you ready for the coming storm?
A newly found nuclear production facility in Iran. England, France and the US together call out Iran over their nuclear ambitions. Talk of Israel attacking Iran to destroy those facilities. Brezinski calling for the US to attack Israeli war planes if they do attack.
G20 meetings protested in Pittsburgh. Islam on Capitol Hill brings 2 to 5000 muslims and non muslim protesters to Washington. Weeks before 1 to 2 million TEA Partiers marched on Washington, did not have any arrests and picked up their trash on the way home; they were ignored by the US Government and could explode some time soon.
To say the least, we are living in interesting times. There is talk of coming riots, hyper inflation, martial law, swine flu quarantines, limited nuclear strikes, etc.
Not to sound like an alarmist, but I wonder if you are physically prepared for the possibility of being stuck at home with no way to get food, possibly no electricity or water? Far fetched? Maybe not as far fetched as you think. I know a lot of families that are stocking up. They are not buying a bunch of stuff they don’t normally buy. They are just buying more of it. It is not just hurricane battered Floridians that are stocking up. A friend of mine is a cashier at Walmart in Tennessee that reported people have been buying a lot more than usual. She asked one customer why. “My husband is in Afghanistan and he said to get stocked up.” This spring, David Wilkerson said to stock up with a months worth of food because he had visions of fires and riots spreading around the world.
If you do stock up, look at it like preparing for a storm. Don’t buy a bunch of stuff you do not normally buy. Do make sure you have as much extra medicine as you can. Get your doctor to write you a script for a 3 month supply and get it by mail order or from Walgreens thrift club. Of course you have a $20 fire safe to keep documents in. That is safer than a mattress, if you know what I mean. If you have “bare arms” you probably already have plenty of extra ammo.
Some things you might consider is a few packs of dust masks like painters use, a propane grill or stove and some extra cans of propane. You can get a small portable grill for about $25, propane cylinders for $3 to $4. Paper plates? plastic forks? Manual can opener? How bad would that be? 300 cans of beans and no way to open the cans
Water is a good idea too. there are folding heavy plastic water containers in the camping department. Keep some of those on hand and hope you get warning to fill them up. Household bleach is a good idea as well. Eight drops will disinfect a gallon of water.
Think about it. I am sure you can come up with some stuff you want handy if martial law as declared ![]()
