The Physical Return of Christ

John Piper with three different biblical scholars each holding one view of when the return of Jesus happens. For those in the know… the discussion is hosted by a Calvinist… with a pre-, a- and post-millennialist.

The video is long but presents the crucial sides of all three arguments. I see the post- and a-millennial arguments week… that is only because I am a pre-millennialist! I have watched it in entirety and my views are not changed.

It has been brought to my attention there is a fourth view… pan-millennialism… that is the belief that it will all pan out in the end!

To really understand this… I think you need to forget eschatology! The only question I have in that has never been asked in the whole discussion… When was/will Babylon be uninhabited forever?

to be a Pan Tribber is by definition to be a Pan Millenialist as well. Welcome to the club, AA!

    No sir… you missed it! I am NOT a pan- anything! I am a pre-trib, pre-millenialist!

The church age is coming to a close, when that happens, God will finish his judgment of Israel and the world's attitudes toward His chosen. When the Abomination of Desolation occurs and the Jews flee Israel. It is when people amass and declare war on God that Jesus comes from the clouds and defeats the armies. This is the second coming, this is when He will sit on the David's throne.

The judgment is NOT for Christians… Matt 24:36-44. A reference is made to the days of Noah… Study those days, you will see Noah entered the ark, it was surprise to all around, yet the door to the ark remained open for SEVEN MORE DAYS before God shut it. Nobody entered that way, and there was no other way to survive death through judgment! Noah and his family survived this judgment.

The whole story of Noah, for me, is a model of these end times. When the rapture comes, the door will remain open for another 7 years. But as in the days of Noah, will anyone take the invitation?

And when does the judgment really occur… during the tribulation? I think not… I tend to think the judgment comes when Jesus touches His foot on Earth again. It is on a mountaintop… and who is following Him, the saints!

While I don't fully understand this and it requires more study. If the picture is true we know that some will be converted to preach. Will any respond? Salvation will be salvation, but the only way to enter into it is to die a hideous death!

Will people be able to see through the delusion? I don't know.

Regardless… we are to live prepared for the imminent rapture… with the wicks of our lamps trimmed! Even the rest of the verses following the cite in Matthew above speak to this! I do not know when as in a precise date, but I do know when in the ages of time!
