Oscars Target a Wider Audience – *YAWN*

February 2nd, 2010

I think I have reruns of Canon to watch that night.

Are there people who actually still watch the Oscars? I know I stopped many years ago. I really got tired of seeing a bunch of  the silicon-collagen-and-Botox set give themselves, the ungrateful gentry, awards!

And when they accept the “coveted” award, they don’t thank those who spend their hard earned money on their “art” to support the stars’ lavish lifestyles. Instead they thank the Academy… the other people in their peer group who voted for them! And the acceptance speech is laced with wacko left-of-center political rants!

The kicker is when they gave an Oscar to Al Gore for a debunked documentary!

The Oscars have lost any credibility. Really, watching the champagne and caviar set laud themselves makes compelling television?

Hey, if watching the stars, and caring what they say or do is your bag, then go for it. If you like the progressive (read communist) social engineering that comes from Hollywood, tune in.

It ain’t for me, I don’t do that religion. They are just people, mostly, far less interesting and far less savvy than the regulars at the bagel nook on the corner.

Why not pick up the all-time best seller and read the book of John (John 1.) It will take less time, be more interesting, and might just change your whole perspective on life. Now that is compelling!

Check out what God has to say, he is far more real and personal than those who will appear on the Oscars!
