The Making (or Faking) of a Christian President
Much hoo-hah is being made over the president’sseemingextreme spiritual makeover. It seems the apologists are working overtime to polish up the tarnished “piety” of POTUS.
After spending many years of Sundays under Jeremiah Wright’s tutelage, it seems urgent for everyone to know that Barack Obama is a Christian.
During a town hall meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 28 September 2010, the president was asked this question, “Why are you a Christian?”
His answer, beginning at about 7:45 in the video link above, is as follows…
You know, I’m a Christian by choice. My family didn’t – frankly, they weren’t folks who went to church every week. And my mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew, but she didn’t raise me in the church.
I know you do not have to go to church to be a Christian, but if not under the discipline of a body of believers and like minded people, doctrine tends to drift, so-to-say.
He continues…
So I came to my Christian faith later in life and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead – being my brothers’ and sisters’ keeper, treating others as they would treat me.
Hmmm… now this is where I really start to wonder. First, understanding what Jesus was saying in Matthew 7:12, He was talking specifically in the context of serving others. But it seems that our president wants to be responsible for, or worse yet, to control others. This is not what Jesus Christ taught, ever! Quite frankly it is not taught anywhere else in the bible.
But let us continue…
And I think also understanding that Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all have to have as human beings, that we’re sinful and we’re flawed and we make mistakes, and that we achieve salvation through the grace of God.
Respectfully, Mr. President, I think you get it wrong, it is not about us. It was Jesus Who was humbled (Philippians 2:5-8) for our sins. It was He Who died a shameful death (Isaiah 53:4-5) and took our just punishment. Yeah, we are sinful, (Romans 3:10) willful-disobedient (John 3:19-20) wretches! We offer NOTHING to a holy God, but to agree with Him about our sin, repent and then humbly serve Him and others.
Furthermore, would you continue to steal glory from God, by stating WE achieve salvation? It is only by His longsuffering, His mercy toward us, and His great sacrifice of grace that we are saved! Hallelujah!
But, as someone who has totally missed the grace of Jesus, our president would instruct us to help others.
He continued…
But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people and do our best to help them find their own grace.
My job is NOT to see God in others, that sounds a bit pantheistic, or universal, not surprising for a post-modern man. But we do not help people “find their own grace.” That grace is useless! It is only the grace of God (John 3:36) of that saves. There is salvation in no other name, but the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12, John 14:6.)
Jesus teaches us how to identify Christians, first, by their fruits as written in Matthew 7:16. And then by the love we have for one another as written in John 13:34-35. Some of that fruit can be found in this previous post.
Make no mistake, I am not judging the president. I am only being like a Berean, and testing what he says against what the bible says is true!
If President Obama did as Jesus instructed in John 13:15-16. My mind might be changed. But I think the woe that Jesus spoke to the Pharisees in Matthew 23:25-26 may apply.

VERY, VERY STRANGE…
WHO IS HE?
Ever wondered why no one ever came forward from Obama’s past saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc. Not one person has ever come forward from his past.
VERY, VERY STRANGE…
This should really be a cause for great concern.
To those who voted for him, you have elected the biggest unqualifed fraud that America has ever known. Sort of adds credence to the idea of The Manchurian Candidate thing happening here!
George Stephanopoulos, of ABC News. said the same thing during the 2008 campaign. He too was a classmate of Obama’s at Columbia class of 1984. He said he never had a single class with him..
While he is such a great orator, why doesn’t anyone in Obama’s college class remember him? And, why won’t he allow Columbia to release his records?
NOBODY REMEMBERS OBAMA AT COLUMBIA !
Looking for evidence of Obama’s past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there, but none remembered him.
Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia who also graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, “I don’t know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don’t have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia . EVER! Nobody recalls him.
Root adds that he was also, like Obama, “Class of ’83 political science, pre-law” and says, “You don’t get more exact or closer than that.” Never met him in my life, don’t know anyone who ever met him. At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack!
And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who’s kind of the, as we say in New York, the macha who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him.”
Obama’s photograph does not appear in the school’s yearbook and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia, provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or friend while at Columbia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Allyn_Root#column-one
NOTE: Root graduated as Valedictorian from his high school, Thornton-Donovan School , then graduated from Columbia University in 1983 as a Political Science major in the same class that Barack Hussein Obama was supposed to have been in.
Some Other Interesting Questions…
Why was Obama’s law license inactivated in 2002? Why was Michelle’s law license inactivated by Court Order?
It is circulating that according to the U.S. Census, there is only one Barack Obama but 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 aliases. The Social Security number he uses now originated in Connecticut where he is never reported to have lived.
No wonder all his records are sealed!
We must go on and continue sending this out to everyone.
Please pass it across America !

Superb Statement… On Mosque in Ground Zero
The Cordoba House established in Cordoba, Spain many centuries ago after the Moors conquered the Christians. A cathedral was converted into a mosque and named accordingly.
A reversal happened when the Moors were driven from Spain .
Google explains the history:
Subject: Superb Statement.
This is the most clearly stated, sensible, and historically accurate statement that I’ve read on this issue (and I’ve read a lot of them).
Statement on the Proposed “ Cordoba House” Mosque near Ground Zero.
Newt Gingrich
July 21, 2010 6pm
There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia.
The time for double standards that allow Islamists to behave aggressively towards us while they demand our weakness and submission is over.
The proposed ” Cordoba House” overlooking the World Trade Center site – where a group of jihadists killed over 3000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks – is a test of the timidity, passivity and historic ignorance of American elites.
For example, most of them don’t understand that “ Cordoba House” is a deliberately insulting term. It refers to Cordoba , Spain – the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world’s third-largest mosque complex.
“ Cordoba ,” in Islamic symbolic terms, means Islamic rule in the West. Today, some of the Mosque’s backers insist this term is being used to “symbolize interfaith cooperation” when, in fact, every Islamist in the world recognizes Cordoba as a symbol of Islamic conquest. It is a sign of their contempt for Americans and their confidence in our historic ignorance that they would deliberately insult us this way.
Those Islamists and their apologists who argue for “religious toleration” are arrogantly dishonest. They ignore the fact that more than 100 mosques already exist in New York City .
Meanwhile, there are no churches or synagogues in all of Saudi Arabia . In fact no Christian or Jew can even enter Mecca . And they lecture us about tolerance!
If the people behind the Cordoba House were serious about religious toleration, they would be imploring the Saudis, as fellow Muslims, to immediately open up Mecca to all, and immediately announce their intention to allow non-Muslim houses of worship in the Kingdom. They should be asked by the news media if they would be willing to lead such a campaign.
We have not been able to rebuild the World Trade Center in nine years. Now we are being told a 13 story, $100 million megamosque will be built within a year overlooking the site of the most devastating surprise attack in American history.
Finally, where is the money coming from? The people behind the Cordoba House refuse to reveal all their funding sources. America is experiencing an Islamist cultural-political offensive designed to undermine and destroy our civilization.
Sadly, too many of our elites are the willing apologists for those who would destroy them if they could.
No mosque. No self deception. No surrender.
The time to take a stand is now – at this site, on this issue.
If, after reading this, you agree with it, please pass it on to others. This is the most clearly stated, sensible, and historically accurate statement that I’ve read on this issue (and I’ve read a lot of them).
[Please pass it on even if you DON'T agree with it; there may be others who appreiate learning the historical background of ' Cordoba ', and the symbolism to which it is attached!]

Ervin Laszlo: When Stephen Hawking Speaks About God, Don’t Mistake Him for a Scientist
It seems as if the God deniers are beginning to understand the ramifications of the latest offering, “A Grand Design,” from Steven Hawking. There are some who to push themselves far, far away from Mr. Hawking.
So far, in everything that I have read, all science ontology eventually leads to “something came from nothing!” Yet, curiously, in this article at HuffPo, Mr. Laszlo declares his own faith. Consider his statement:
“Scientists cannot say whether we "need" a God to explain the way the world is; all they can say is that science (and here mostly they mean physics) can (although so far it hasn’t) find equations that account for all the laws of nature.”
That, I think is a statement made in blind faith, especially in light of the fact that Mr. Hawking is considered to be one of the foremost physicists, cosmologists and mathematicians alive today. It is obvious, considering the findings in his latest book, that Mr. Hawking cannot agree with Mr. Laszlo’s declaration of faith!

Mosque or not
I am appalled at all my friends who are so opposed to the mosque near ground zero.
To show our tolerance, we should let them build it.
Then right across the street, someone should put a topless bar, called “You Mecca Me Hot”.
Next to that should be a gay bar, “The Turban Cowboy”.
And next door to the mosque should be a pork rib restaurant, maybe “Iraq o’ Ribs”.
Then the Muslims could be allowed to show their tolerance.
Problem solved.

Why Evolution Cannot be True
This is a response to Dan Kuik‘s comment posted to the article Is there any hope for this generation?
I shall try to explain this the best way I can. To some it may be very difficult indeed to hear. I know there are a lot of committed Christians who are scientists, and I praise God for them. It is truly a difficult field to be called into. These scientists are not idiots, however, they may very well be deceived.
As Christians, we are not against science, either. However there are some “sciences” that are truly exist in a gray area between philosophy and science. They are mistakenly accepted as true empirical science, but are not directly observable. Among these are psychology, sociology, and evolution. These fields of research lend themselves to grand theories based on an incorrect philosophy. These philosophies are grounded in stories that may have some truth within them. But regardless of the content of some truth they are still, nevertheless, stories.
The field of science truly endeavors to make sense of creation. Yet, what began as an innocent desire by humanity to understand who we are, it has now gone awry.
That desire to understand, as innocent as it began, has given birth to delusion. This delusion is now being used to deceive people, giving them a convenient excuse to deny God and live their lives as they see fit. It infects them with the irrationality that all truth is relative. Regardless, many trod down that wide path.
This practice, unstopped, leads to destruction and sadly, death. It is this innocent desire that births delusion, then deception, in turn becoming destruction, and finally death. It is the basis for all sin.
First off, let’s establish some things 2 Timothy 3:16 says that all scripture is breathed out by God and is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness. I will use scripture alone. It is the essence of instruction from a holy God.
Second, I contend that the days we live in are indeed the last days, the signs are plentiful. For my reference, I will use 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. (2) For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, (3) heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, (4) treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, (5) having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
Paul goes on to say that such people are “always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 3:7) This is because when using an incorrect philosophy as a basis, one cannot do true science. To begin with one that excludes the very Author and Creator of life will always belie the same!
One must be on guard for this delusion. Jesus Himself said “See that no one leads you astray.” (Matthew 24:4) But one strong warning comes in 1 Timothy 4:1, Paul says “in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons.” In fact Jesus, in Matthew 24:24, says the deception will be so strong “so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” Those are some strong warnings!
But we must, as watchmen, stand on the wall and warn others. It is not our intention to “pit God against evolution.” Simply for the fact that the converse is already true, evolution has pitted itself against God. I would dare say it exalts itself against the very throne of the Most High.
Satan’s favorite tool is deception, in fact, he is called the deceiver. He also disguises himself as an angel of light, as Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:14 “And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”
But as with every deception of the enemy, he loves to use it coupled with truth. But a lie, no matter how small, coupled with a truth, no matter how great, is still but a lie. Paul warns us of this by saying a little leaven leavens the whole lump. (1 Corinthians 5:6)
Through subtle deception, evolution exalts itself against some of the very foundational doctrines of the faith. I contend that evolution CANNOT be true in the light of God’s word.
There are too many to go through in a post such as this, so I will choose one.
If, as is posited by Dan, God “used” evolution JUST to create a man, that means that millions of creatures would have had to die before there was even the first man. This means that evolution must establish that man exists as a result of millions of years of death!
But, my Bible teaches me something entirely different. It tells me that man was created by the will of God from the dust of the ground. It tells me that man was created good. It also tells me in Romans 5:12 that death is the result of man’s sin! In fact, because of that first man’s sin, we all inherited that propensity.
So as I see it, man’s wisdom teaches that death brought man, but God says man brought death!
Those two ideas cannot coexist!
Therefore, evolution, as purported, cannot be true. We would have to deny sin, which brings us back to the deception. 1 John 1:8 ” If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
Sin hardens by deceit… Hebrews 3:13. Scoffers are here and they plainly mock Christianity… 2 Peter 3:2-6. Unrighteous people suppress the truth… Romans 1:18.
We need to stand firm… 2 Thessalonians 2:15.
It is not that “Human beings have no less purpose in life,” but that One human’s purpose is then not necessary (John 3:14-17.)
When we read the bible, the warnings are plentiful. Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:21-23 are indeed truly sad. This is an admonition to examine ourselves regularly, and against the very word of God, to identify and deal with that deception. Lest we find ourselves standing in His very presence hearing those fateful words… depart from me.

The Ant and The Grasshopper
The ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER This one is a little different ….
Two Different Versions …
Two Different Morals
OL D VERSIONThe ant works
hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE OLD STORY: Be responsible for yourself!
MODERN VERSIONThe ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grass hopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.
CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green…’
ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house where the news stations film the group singing, We shall overcome.
Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper’s sake.
President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper’s plight.
Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the
grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share. Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity &
Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of
the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper! and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn’t maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and peaceful, neighborhood.
The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Be careful how you vote in 2010.I’ve sent this to you because I believe that you are an ant not a grasshopper!
Make sure that you pass this on to other ants.
Don’t bother sending it on to any grasshoppers because they wouldn’t understand it, anyway

Urgent Comment from Understand The Times
A meeting held recently in Austria attended by the “elite,” has set in motion the agenda that will change the world until Jesus comes for His Church in the rapture. (I Thessalonians 4:17).
Expect three trends to happen fulfilling the 666 plan:
- The development of a global government. (6)
- The development of a global currency within a global economy. (6)
- The development of a global religion for peace. (6)
The “fundamental transformation” of the United States and every other country in the world has begun.
Born-again Bible believing Christians will be a remnant. Believers who follow the true Jesus and His Word will proclaim the truth in love and expose the “lie”. This will happen worldwide.
Christians can expect the following:
- The shocking collapse of many well respected “Christian” organizations.
- The development of a counterfeit bride for a counterfeit Christ (Revelation 17:1-9).
- Perilous times (2 Timothy chapter 3).
The counter prevention for Apostasy
- Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalms 122:6).
- Read 2 Timothy 4:1-8.
- Pray each day to be led by the Holy Spirit. (John 16:13).
- Proclaim the gospel. (2 Corinthians 4:3-5).
- Be a watchman for Jesus Christ. (Ezekiel 3:17).
- Be a good servant. (2 Timothy chapter 2).
- Read Colossians chapters 1 though 4
Sincerely in the name of Jesus Christ,
Roger Oakland

God is Always Nearby
Acts 17:28a – “for ‘In him we live and move and have our being’”
Consider the verse above… we all indeed do live, move and exist explicitly at the will of God. But when you seek God, do you look for Him in human made buildings or certain places of prayer?
Do you not know, that God can be found by those who seek Him. The only requirement is we have to willingly seek Him as He is! It is He Who serves us. He is very close to all of us. Some today would equate God and the universe as one. That cannot be, He is a personal God, He transcends time and space.
It is the same principal, that when you enter a dark room (even if you have never been in that room) you begin looking for a light switch. You grope around in the dark until you find it. And when you do, you grasp it to turn it on!
Now, lets read Acts 17:24-28 “The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are indeed his offspring.’”
So there it is, God is not constricted by place or time like us. He determined the exact place where you are, and He wants you to seek Him.
But did you see it?
He wants you to find Him, though He is not lost. He has put you right where that you are “in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him.” The same principal applies… when you find yourself in any circumstance far away from God, whether a believer or not. God is always very close nearby. It is those that “feel their way toward Him” (the NKJV uses the words “that they might grope for Him”) that find Him.
It is a diligent, loving pursuit of each of us. Always nearby, our heavenly Father is ready, willing and able to be found by those who seek Him. It really is that simple.
