One Light Bulb at a Time
A physics teacher in high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn’t slow a train very much, a billion of them would. With that thought in mind, read the following, obviously written by a good American ..
Good idea .. . . one light bulb at a time . . . .
Check this out . I can verify this because I was in Lowes the other day for some reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments . They were all made in China . The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in USA . Start looking ..
In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else – even their job . So, after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track . Let’s get behind her!
My grandson likes Hershey’s candy . I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more.
My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico … now I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything ..
This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60 W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets . I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off-brand labeled, “Everyday Value . ” I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats – they were the same except for the price ..
The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in – get ready for this – the USA in a company in Cleveland, Ohio .
So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here ..
So on to another aisle – Bounce Dryer Sheets . … . yep, you guessed it, Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada .. The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA ! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price!
My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA – the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!
If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from overseas companies!
(We should have awakened a decade ago … . .. . . . )
Let’s get with the program . . . .. help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the U . S . A …

Haiti Update
Date: Fri, Jan 29, 2010 at 1:14 PM
Subject: Haiti Update
Friends:
This email was forwarded to me by two Active Duty Air Force Colonels
(Trezza & Eickhoff)
that ran Aeromedical Evacuation Units and Air Force Hospitals in
Europe for many years.
Why am I not surprised! If they had you AE/Readiness guys running the
show things would have been different.
Sent to me by a friend who is a Sgt. Major in the Army
To All,
I just returned from Haiti with Hebler. We flew in at 3 AM Sunday to the scene of such incredible destruction on one side, and enormous ineptitude and criminal neglect on the other.
Port o Prince is in ruins. The rest of the country is fairly intact.
Our team was a rescue team and we carried special equipment that locates people buried under the rubble. There are easily 200,000 dead, the city smells like a charnel house.
The bloody UN was there for 5 years doing apparently nothing but wasting US Taxpayers money. The ones I ran into were either incompetents or outright anti American. Most are French or french speakers, worthless every one of them.
While 1800 rescuers were ready willing and able to leave the airport and go do our jobs, the UN and USAID ( another organization full of little OBamites and communists that openly speak against Americana ) These two organizations exemplified their parochialism by:
USAID, when in control of all inbound flights, had food and water flights stacked up all the way to Miami , yet allowed Geraldo Rivera, Anderson Cooper and a host of other left wing news puppies to land.
Pulled all the security off the rescue teams so that Bill Clinton and his wife could have the grand tour, whilst we sat unable to get to people trapped in the rubble.
Stacked enough food and water for the relief over at the side of the airfield then put a guard on it while we dehydrated and wouldn’t release a drop of it to the rescuers.
No shower facilities to decontaminate after digging or moving corpses all day, except for the FEMA teams who brought their own shower and decon equipment, as well as air conditioned tents.
No latrine facilities, less digging a hole. If you set up a crapper everyone was trying to use it.
I watched a 25 year old Obamite with the USAID shrieking hysterically, berate a full bird colonel in the air force, because he countermanded her orders, whilst trying to unscrew the air pattern. ” You don’t know what your president wants! The military isn’t in charge here we are!”
If any of you are thinking of giving money to the Haitian relief, or to the UN don’t waste your money. It will only go to further the goals of the French and the Liberal left.
If we are a fair and even society, why is it that only white couples are adopting Haitian orphans. Where the hell is that vocal minority that is always screaming about the injustice of American society.
Bad place, bad situation, but a perfect look at the new world order in action. New Orleans magnified a thousand times. Haiti doesn’t need democracy, what Haiti needs is Papa Doc. That’s not just my opinion, that is what virtually every Haitian we talked with said. “the French run, the UN treat us the same as when we were a colony”, at least Papa Doc ran the country.
Oh, and as a last slap in the face the last four of us had to take US AIRWAY’s home from Phoenix . They slapped me with a 590 dollar baggage charge for the four of us. The girl at the counter was almost in tears because she couldn’t give us a discount or she would lose her job..
Pass that on to the flying public.
Nick

Two Emails
This morning I got, besides all the usual ads, two emails that caught my attention. They were both about comedians but they could not have been more different.
The first one I opened had a video of Steve Harvey in what looked like a basketball arena, a lot of people there. Steve was talking about what he would say if he had the pleasure of introducing Jesus Christ on his second coming. As he started his introduction, people were standing up and waving, obviously loving what he was saying about the king of kings. At the end the camera panned across the arena showing thousands of people that were worshiping Jesus, at the end of a secular comedy act. It was wonderful.
The next email I opened was about Kathy (D-List) Griffin giving her acceptance speech at the Emmy awards. She made quite clear that Jesus had nothing to do with her getting the Emmy and ended with “suck it Jesus! This award is my god now!” The other people on stage were laughing, obviously agreeing with her as she dissed Jesus.
I was cheered by the first video, saddened by the second. How long ago would it have been when neither event would have occurred? I may be showing my age, but in my younger days I believe that anyone saying what Ms D-List said would have been out of work, as far as entertainment goes. Nobody would stand to hear that trash. By the same token, what Steve Harvey said probably would not have been said in a venue like that simply because being a Christian was a social norm, going to church was what people did, regardless of whether they believed or not.
The world was not truly polarized as it is now. You either love Jesus or you hate him. If you do not love Jesus, you will probably do something like Kathy Griffin did to show how cool and with it you are because that is what is expected in the media today. In the email was a call to boycott her shows. I am not sure how effective that would be. I boycott her shows already because they are trashy and not worth watching.
Is this another sign of how close Jesus it is to coming back?

The Pickle Jar
The pickle jar, as far back as I can remember, sat on the floor beside the dresser in my parents’ bedroom. When he got ready for bed, Dad would empty his pockets and toss his coins into the jar.
As a small boy, I was always fascinated at the sounds the coins made as they were dropped into the jar. They landed with a merry jingle when the jar was almost empty. Then the tones gradually muted to a dull thud as the jar was filled.
I used to squat on the floor in front of the jar to admire the copper and silver circles that glinted like a pirate’s treasure when the sun poured through the bedroom window. When the jar was filled, Dad would sit at the kitchen table and roll the coins before taking them to the bank.
Taking the coins to the bank was always a big production..
Stacked neatly in a small cardboard box, the coins were placed between Dad and me on the seat of his old truck.
Each and every time, as we drove to the bank, Dad would look at me hopefully. ‘Those coins are going to keep you out of the textile mill, son. You’re going to do better than me. This old mill town’s not going to hold you back.’
Also, each and every time, as he slid the box of rolled coins across the counter at the bank toward the cashier, he would grin proudly. ‘These are for my son’s college fund. He’ll never work at the mill all his life like me.’
We would always celebrate each deposit by stopping for an ice cream cone. I always got chocolate. Dad always got vanilla. When the clerk at the ice cream parlor handed Dad his change, he would show me the few coins nestled in his palm. ‘When we get home, we’ll start filling the jar again.’ He always let me drop the first coins into the empty jar. As they rattled around with a brief, happy jingle, we grinned at each other. ’You’ll get to college on pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters,’ he said. ‘But you’ll get there; I’ll see to that.’
No matter how rough things got at home, Dad continued to doggedly drop his coins into the jar. Even the summer when Dad got laid off from the mill, and Mama had to serve dried beans several times a week, not a single dime was taken from the jar.
To the contrary, as Dad looked across the table at me, pouring catsup over my beans to make them more palatable, he became more determined than ever to make a way out for me ‘When you finish college, Son,’ he told me, his eyes glistening, ‘You’ll never have to eat beans again – unless you want to.’
The years passed, and I finished college and took a job in another town. Once, while visiting my parents, I used the phone in their bedroom, and noticed that the pickle jar was gone. It had served its purpose and had been removed.
A lump rose in my throat as I stared at the spot beside the dresser where the jar had always stood. My dad was a man of few words: he never lectured me on the values of determination, perseverance, and faith. The pickle jar had taught me all these virtues far more eloquently than the most flowery of words could have done. When I married, I told my wife Susan about the significant part the lowly pickle jar had played in my life as a boy. In my mind, it defined, more than anything else, how much my dad had loved me.
The first Christmas after our daughter Jessica was born, we spent the holiday with my parents. After dinner, Mom and Dad sat next to each other on the sofa, taking turns cuddling their first grandchild. Jessica began to whimper softly, and Susan took her from Dad’s arms. ‘She probably needs to be changed,’ she said, carrying the baby into my parents’ bedroom to diaper her. When Susan came back into the living room, there was a strange mist in her eyes.
She handed Jessica back to Dad before taking my hand and leading me into the room. ‘Look,’ she said softly, her eyes directing me to a spot on the floor beside the dresser. To my amazement, there, as if it had never been removed, stood the old pickle jar, the bottom already covered with coins. I walked over to the pickle jar, dug down into my pocket, and pulled out a fistful of coins. With a gamut of emotions choking me, I dropped the coins into the jar. I looked up and saw that Dad, carrying Jessica, had slipped quietly into the room. Our eyes locked, and I knew he was feeling the same emotions I felt. Neither one of us could speak.
This truly touched my heart.. Sometimes we are so busy adding up our troubles that we forget to count our blessings.Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person’s life, for better or for worse.
God puts us all in each other’s lives to impact one another in some way. Look for GOOD in others. The best and most beautiful things cannot be seen or touched – they must be felt with the heart ~ Helen Keller

2 Chronicles 7:14
2 Chronicles 7:14
Obama is our new top man,
Self appointed Almighty God.
“Our country ‘tis” no Christian land,
Won’t acknowledge Jesus as Lord.
An anti-Christ Institution,
Is this man’s American dream.
He’s stepped on The Constitution,
Cancelled events with Christian themes.
Obama’s not hesitating,
Righteously imposing his will.
Congressmen are now debating,
Taking God off the dollar bill.
Can’t display The Ten Commandments,
“In God We Trust” we now deny.
While the words of our President,
“One Nation under God” must die.
Praying is not allowed in school,
Politically we must be correct.
Must not follow The Golden Rule,
The name “Jesus” gets no respect.
Christians are forced to quail and wince,
While Obama gets his desire.
Jesus hasn’t been this mad since,
The fall of the Roman Empire.
Obama tells all the fat cats,
“We must redistribute the wealth.”
He purposely omits the facts,
On Government Reform and Health.
Says, “It’s just a matter of time,
The economy will rebound.”
Unless you count the rise in crime,
A decent job cannot be found.
Our businesses cannot compete,
With the ones we’ve sent overseas.
A dollar an hour sure sounds sweet,
Big Business do as you please.
Real Estate Market’s gone kaput,
Foreclosures are in a new zone.
It’s un-American to put,
Our homeless in an empty home.
From the border of Mexico,
Illegal immigrants galore.
Get our taxes and hard earned dough,
Housing, food stamps, schooling and more.
These criminals routinely get,
Privileges Americans can’t.
While we’re consumed with fear and debt,
We must hear their Mexican chant.
“America is beautiful”,
In their Spanish voices they brag.
“We are more important than you,
Let’s burn the American Flag.”
Our Fore Fathers roll in their graves,
They did not envision this scene.
Obama, atheists and knaves,
2 Chronicles 7:14.
“If my people called by my name,
Will just humble themselves and pray.
Seek my Face not fortune and fame,
Repent and stop their wicked ways.
I’ll hear their prayers up in Heaven,
As always I will understand.
I will forgive them of their sin,
And I will also heal their land.”

Congressional Reform Act of 2010
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!!
A friend sent this along to me. I can’t think of a reason to disagree.
I am sending this to virtually everybody on my e-mail list and that includes conservatives, liberals, and everybody in between. Even though we disagree on a number of issues, I count all of you as friends. My friend and neighbor wants to promote a “Congressional Reform Act of 2010″. It would contain eight provisions, all of which would probably be strongly endorsed by those who drafted the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
I know many of you will say, “this is impossible”. Let me remind you, Congress has the lowest approval of any entity in Government, now is the time when Americans will join together to reform Congress – the entity that represents us.
We need to get a Senator to introduce this bill in the US Senate and a Representative to introduce a similar bill in the US House. These people will become American hero’s..
Thanks,
A Fellow American
***********************************
Congressional Reform Act of 2010
Based on the premise that serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.
1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below.
A. Two Six year Senate terms
B. Six Two year House terms
C. One Six year Senate term and three Two Year House terms
2. No Tenure / No Pension:
A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.
4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.
5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise or allow an automatic pay raise if they do not vote to stop it.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/11 .
The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.
___________________________________________________
We do not need 2000 pages of weasel words. The US Constitution is only 17 pages long and has governed the country for over 200 years. One page of direct points like this will do the job.
Is any politician brave enough to sponsor this bill? We should make sponsoring this bill a requirement for being elected in 2010.

Janet’s Solution
Department of Homeland Security Issues Terrorist ID Cards
Requires Application, $25 Fee
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – In the wake of the Christmas Day airline terror attempt, the Department of Homeland Security today said it was instituting a bold new series of security measures, including issuing an official “proof of terrorism” I.D. card.
“All potential terrorists must have the terrorist I.D. card in order to be barred from boarding,” said Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano. “If you want to get on the no-fly list you’ll need a completed application and the $25 fee.”
Ms. Napolitano said that while the terror suspect’s father had warned the U.S. about his son weeks before the incident, the Homeland Security Dept. was tightening rules in that area as well: “In the future, it will be necessary for a terrorist’s mom and dad to warn us before we take it seriously.”
The Homeland Security chief said that her department would continue to crack down on the primary threat to air safety: shampoo.
“We will be looking out for shampoo like never before,” she said. “If you want to smuggle it on board, you had better hide it with your bomb-making supplies.”
She also praised the Department’s decision to ban in-flight bathroom use: “One thing every terrorist has in common is that they eventually need to pee.”
