Self explanatory treatise on the lie.
While this one is specific on the lie perpetrated at the end of the age, my take is much broader. I consider the lie as anything that asserts itself above God, His risen Son and His indwelling Spirit.
This is the essence of all sin.

Rev 6:8 Critters
When God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, God released ten “plagues” on the Egyptians to convince them to release the Hebrews. The plagues were specifically targeted at ten of the gods worshiped by the Egyptians.
In a similar fashion, the various “plagues” released during the seal, bowl and vial judgments in the Revelation are similar to what we are doing to corrupt the earth, only magnified. For an example, let’s look at Revelation 6:8.
Rev 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
We have great ingenuity creating weapons and systems for so people can “kill with sword”. Between religious practices that make certain animals sacred, causing food to be wasted to the point where humans starve and political acts that result in famines, we kill with hunger today. I am not sure what killing with death is, but we probably do it. The last method is killing with the beasts of the earth. Some of what is happening with beasts today may surprise you.
Apparently bears are becoming more aggressive because of acclimation to the presence of humans and human encroachment on their habitat. It is on the History Channel and in the newspapers. According to one resident of Alaska there used to be maybe one bear attack on humans every ten years. Nowadays there are at least 2 attacks every year.
For some smaller beasts, just look to the hybrid Killer Africanized Bees. There was a geneticist in Brazil in the 50’s that tried to create a bee that produced like African bees and was gentle like European bees. Oops! Before the work was finished an assistant removed the guards that kept the queens inside the hives. A bunch of queens left for the wild with their colonies right behind them. The swarms have made it as far north as Flagstaff Arizona, breeding with local honeybees and picking up traits that allow them to survive in high altitudes and cold temps. Swarms hit people and sometimes kill them, others survive as many as 4000 stings and end up in ICU.
There are even smaller beasties we have killing people. Besides weaponized versions of anthrax bacteria and smallpox and ebola viruses, we have some nasty critters in the wild, such as MRSA and “flesh eating bacteria” or necrotizing fasciitis. These are bacteria that have adapted to the insane measures taken to sanitize facilities and equipment in hospitals.
Of course, the judgments of Revelation have not started yet. What we see in terms of what will be seen is just a foretaste. If you think it is bad now, dealing with a hostile environment that is just going to get worse, you do not want to be here when the seals get broken, the trumpets sounded and vials get dumped.
Accepting the free gift of salvation that Jesus provides now will keep you from having to navigate through the worst living conditions man has ever seen. If you wait until the meat grinder starts up to ask Jesus to forgive your sins, chances are good you will end up with your head cut off. That might actually be a good thing according to Revelation 7, to die during the seven year period of rule by the man of evil. The biggest problem with that strategy is the lying wonders that could deceive even those that belong to Jesus. If you wait, you might just miss the whole thing and end up on the wrong side of history.
Me personally, I do not want to see any of it. I would much rather spend that seven years in heaven with Jesus, getting ready for the second coming and the start of the 1000 year kingdom to come.

Good: Nuclear Doomsday Clock Turned Back; Bad: Board Didn’t Factor In Iran
For those who do not know, the doomsday clock lets us know how close we are to the end of the world. It started as a measure of how close the world was to nuclear annihilation, but has since been changed to include all forms of worldwide cataclysmic disaster capable of destroying all life on Earth.
Read the article, pay attention to the list of scientists who are responsible for setting the hands on this clock. Most are atheists, some well known.
While the article takes The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists to task for excluding a nuclear Iran, it is the other exclusion that comes to my mind.
As we march toward the rapture and tribulation, the bible gives us certain signs… among them are:
- People going to and fro and knowledge shall be increased (Daniel 12:4) – we live in unprecedented times of travel and spend so much time traveling, and knowledge increases daily
- We have become lovers of self and money (2 Timothy 3:1-4) – Spa treatments, plastic surgery, every advertisement you see wants you to spend your money on you! People are arrogant and unforgiving and there is a grand lack of self-control
- Increasing deception (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12) – We are deceived constantly and daily, be the press corps, by our politicians and by our own selves.
We are witnessing the signs, those of us who have read the book and understand know. The enemy, the lawless one spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:8 is already at work. He knows his time is short.
In my opinion, this is just more of the deception, more of the lie. A false peace and safety… look around, people say peace and those (anti-Christ) peace signs are everywhere. Could this be what is spoken of in Thessalonians 5:1-4?
Pay attention, we are being groomed to follow a worldwide leader. That isn’t so bad, but people will want to worship this leader… and he will want and accept their worship!

Are you sure of salvation?
Are you sure of your salvation? Can you be sure? What exactly is salvation again?
What is salvation again?
In an ealier post I described salvation in terms of the three tenses of salvation: past, present and future. Justification is the past tense (if you are saved that is) where you are removed from the penalty of sin. Glorification is the future tense where you are removed from the presence of sin. In between these is sanctification, the present tense, where you are removed from the power of sin. Sancification is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit and you agreeing with the Spirit to make choices to follow the Spirit in his quest to make you like Jesus. This is what goes on as a believer “works out his salvation with fear and trembling”, as Paul said in Philippians 2:12
Unlike santification the believer has very little to do with what happens in justification and glorification. As Paul says in Romans 8:30
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
(I won’t get into the apparent paradoxes involved in predestination vs. freewill except to say what appears to be predestination is really freewill, depending on whether you are inside or outside the created universe. The Holy Spirit calls everyone with a soft voice. Eventually, you either listen to that voice and enter the transaction that triggers justification, or you ignore the voice until the Spirit stops calling you.)
The main point of the verse is that justification and glorification are up to God. Nothing you could do could possibly affect your justification or glorification. Once you make the decision to agree with God that you need to be saved, God takes care of justification, cleaning up your sin debt, sealing your spirit with the Holy Spirit, etc. see 2 Cor 1:21-22. Glorification takes place at the rapture or resurection, depending on which side of the grave you are on when Jesus comes back for us. see 1 Cor. 15:51-53 and 1 John 3:2 on glorification.
Can you be sure?
The big question, though, is can I be sure of my salvation? John 10:27-30 answers that pretty well.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand.I and [my] Father are one.
If if no man is able to pluck me out of Jesus or his Father’s hands, and I am a man (human, that is) then nothing I can do will cause me to lose my salvation.
What is the point of sanctification?
Sanctification, as I said, is that process that goes on in a believers life between Justification in the past and Glorification in the future. Sanctification is the present you give back to Jesus for giving you eternal life. 
A lot of people do not get too far along with sanctification. It is a lot of bother, what with going to college or finding a job or working to support a family. They might go to church regularly or just Easter and Christmas, throw some money to charity, read the bible when they notice it. Except for Sundays and holidays, they probably do not think about God very much.
Mainly though, they just will not grow very much spiritually. How they they be more like Jesus when they do not set themselves apart from the world and draw close to God? How can they be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:1-2) when they do not read the word of God?
You might say, “what difference will it make? I am going to heaven and all that, so who cares?” If you look at 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 you might change your mind:
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
The works you do to “get brownie points” by following rules or doing what people say “a Christian should do this” is what Paul calls wood hay and stubble. What you get out of following the lead of the Holy Spirit in the sanctification process is gold, silver and precious stones. So what? Romans 14:10 and 2 Corinthians 5:10 tell us that we shall all stand before the jusgement seat of Christ. This is where all believers will give an account of how they spent their lives, in good ways and not so good. As your life is reviewed you will probably be disappointed at time you wasted, not following the spirit, not living up to what you could have done. I say this to explain why God should have to wipe away our tears. (Rev 21:4) This also explains Paul’s paranoia about losing his rewards (1 Cor 9:27)
This judgment is not for saying you go to heaven or hell. That has been decided by your response to what Jesus did on Calvary. The “judgement scene” you see at the Judgement House dramas churches do is a bit misleading. Believers and non-believers do not stand at the same judgement seat. Non-believers are judged at the end of time, after the second resurection. This is called the great white throne judgement. Rev 20:11-15
Basically sanctification is a choice of hanging out as a hippy or refugee after Jesus judges our works on earth, or hearing him say “well done my faithful servant” and being rewarded with crowns for service to Him. I don’t know if you know this, but hippies and refugees stink. I would rather not have all my works burnt up. I would rather hang with the people who smell good. Still, being a hippy in heaven is better than being in hell.

Science and Religion… are they the same?
For those who are paying attention, have you noticed a pattern lately?
It seems that those cartoons I grew up on, where a certain villain wanted to take over the world, were prognostications. In this case, though, there isn’t any one particular “person” who is doing this.
However, there does seem to be a concerted effort, everywhere, to harness the political will of the world in one entity. And with that, control everything you and I do. I am continually astounded at how fast things are happening.
There are hints appearing daily, and all seem to be small pieces to a larger puzzle. Starting with the engineered recession in 2008, leading to TARP. Then came G-20 and global socialism, followed by single-payer health care, cap and trade, and now climategate. The latest revelation is from a scientist stepping forward declaring a concerted push of what really is a religion. This scientist, a hurricane expert, rips anthropogenic global warming saying, “There has been an unrelenting quarter century of one-sided indoctrination.”
You can also find a push for worldwide population control. Now other countries have joined China’s call for a one child policy! The ultimate goal is controlling every aspect of your life! Perhaps, the boogieman is real, and he is pulling the strings. Your life and your freedom is at stake!
Who is this boogieman? Well, funny thing, in Islam, part of the purification ritual is to rinse your nose out in the morning and before prayer, this is called Ablution. This is because Islam teaches that Satan dwells up in the nose overnight!
Yea, I do believe Satan is real… and I also believe he is the mastermind!
Consider this… Lazy, duped American voters choose ”progressive” politicians because of the promise of goodies from a “benevolent” government. It is fitting, that they choose their own SLAVEMASTERS and willingly indenture themselves! What is more shocking is that they have purchased their own shackles, by supporting progressive environmentalist and animal rights groups with their own hard earned treasure in the name of benevolence.
It is ironic, and perhaps, just. But amidst all of this I am saddened. Saddened, because in this, they have rejected their own freedom. Worse yet, they have willingly and blatantly rejected God’s provision of righteousness for themselves, Jesus! (John 3:16-21)
So I ask… Are you tired of the lies?
Have you reject eternal life all for more leisure and a season to sin?
Did you know… That work is also a gift from God? (Genesis 3:17)
Are you prepared for the certain future of a tyrannical one-world government?
Behold… He says He is coming quickly! (Revelation 3:20; Revelation 16:15; Revelation 22:7,12,20)
Repent, that is change your mind. Reject the lie (Genesis 3:4-5,) that you are your own god. Trust Jesus as your only salvation as you would trust a parachute as Paul says in Romans 3:21-26

Man tries to send flowers to Fort Hood shooter, calls him a "hero"
Flori-DUH is right!
He sent flowers to a cowardly murderer and called him a hero?
I went to this man’s website, and was not surprised to find a self-described educated man who fails at logic and critical thought. He claims to be “the reincarnated Apostle Peter” and “the coming son of man.”
Hmmm, considering the times we live in, Matthew 24:4-5 comes to mind. Further instruction by Jesus HIMSELF in Matthew 24 describes exactly how to expect in the end times. Reading further in this chapter, we come upon a final warning in Matthew 24:26. Matthew 24:27 describes exactly what to expect when Jesus returns to the Earth… everyone alive, everywhere will KNOW (I think at the same time) WHEN JESUS touches His foot on Earth again!
Two words comes to mind to describe this man’s interpretation… BLASPHEMY and HERESY.
Read the judgment in Matthew 24:28. Mr Ross’ “doctrine” is a rotting corpse on which vultures gather!

I have nothing against the man personally; I have never even met him. I do know he is not the messiah and resent him being treated as the messiah by the press. I also resent how he surrounds himself with radical communist true believers that commission artists to create propaganda art for him. I also resent how he is trying to dismantle the free market system, brick by brick.
I am amazed that he believes in an economic philosophy that has completely failed everywhere in the world it has been tried. I guess he believes his own press. Maybe he truly believes he is the messiah.
I just hope we have a country left when his reign is over.
