Judge Rules That Yodeling Offends Muslims
Hmm… it seems that the world is quickly succumbing to the pressure of Islam.
But what gets me can be found in the following quote from the article.
Unfortunately for Helmut G., his neighbors were in the middle of a prayer when he started to yodel. The Kronen Zeitung reported that he was fined 800 Euros after judges ruled that he could have tried to offend his neighbors and ridicule their belief.
Did you see it, too?
They fined this guy 800 Euros because HE COULD HAVE TRIED to offend his Muslim neighbors. Not that he did, or that he meant to do it… just that HE COULD HAVE TRIED!
Where is reason and rationality?

On Sarah Palin and Kate Goselin
It struck me last night (13 December 2010,) watching Sarah Palin’s Alaska, Kate Goselin appeared… she is the star of the show Kate Plus 8 on the same TLC channel. You know, the FIRST mom of the sextuplets.
Well, as I watched Sarah Palin’s Alaska, I realized there is a lesson here for us.
Sarah works hard and enjoys the simple pleasures, too. This episode featured a camping trip. Well, the trip included a bity of drizzly rain and cold weather.
Ms. Palin, and her family, made the best of the situation. They played games and occupied themselves with the challenge of camping outdoors. They were making the most of the opportunity they had, even in the dreariest of situations.
However, Ms. Goselin hid under a tent and complained. She murmured about being cold… she couldn’t figure out for herself how to deal with difficult circumstances. Being the mother of 8 children, one would tend to conclude something different.
But Kate thinks the entire world awaits to comfort her, everything she needs is for HER own comfort. She cannot even endure the slightest bit of discomfort, even though her children are enjoying themselves.
There is one curious, AND SAD comment. It came toward the end when Kate told her children the were no longer Goselins! How terrible for a child so young to hear this… even in jest!
The show spoke many words to me… being that both women profess to be Christians. But there is a HUGE chasm between the two. One seems to give of self always, making sure that all have the things they need, and thoroughly enjoying her children, while protecting them.
The other seems to want comfort for only for self.
Hmmm… it is interesting, that C.S. Lewis himself said about Christians… “When you meet them, you know you’re up against something… something stronger, farther, happier, more alive than ordinary humanity.”
You know… I wonder, of these two women, who more models the winsome behaviors of my savior…

Smithsonian Christmas-Season Exhibit Features Ant-Covered Jesus
Hmmm… and curiously there is no mass rioting and death threats coming from Christians.
This, in contrast to that religion of peace. You know, the one that issues death threats to those who even dare to draw a picture of their prophet.

Engaging the Popular Culture
Ted Turnau wrote an article recently that appeared in Evangelical Today. The article’s main point was on how to be wise as serpents when engaging the popular culture.
It is my opinion, that we are to be separated from this world, yet thoroughly engaging those in it wholeheartedly. We are to contend with those in it, not being consumed by its drunkenness. ALways willing to offer reason to those who have never even heard of Jesus. It is love for their very soul!
Consider Romans 12:2 on what we must be… transformed by the renewing of our mind through the power of the word of God.
But I wonder, the attraction of the culture may deceive us, and I think Mr. Turnau understands. He says:
There is no piece of popular culture so banal or twisted that it does not contain some glimpse of God’s grace. And there is no piece of popular culture so pure and profound that it does not contain an invitation to idolatry. Popular culture appeals to non-Christians for a reason, namely, they sense some of God’s beauty, power and goodness in it.
Does that same attraction hold true for some of us who bear the name of Christ?
We, knowing the full measure of grace, may have forgotten the True Source of that grace. And with it, the overwhelming sufficiency that is available for free! We hunger for grace, running after the small glimpse we see in the popular culture. And perhaps, at the same time, we may sadly respond to that invitation to idolatry.
Titus 2:11-13 offers us the antidote.
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, (12) training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, (13) waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,”
Now there is grace for all, and that grace has already appeared to all!

Joy Behar Lectures Joel Osteen About Homosexuality
Bah! I am no fan of the cackle-fest known as the view. The so-called television show is just more evidence of the rope of sand that is liberalism, women’s lib, relativism, naturalism and, quite frankly, television, too!
On 17 November 2010, the pastor of the United States’ largest church, Joel Osteen waffled and wiggled under pressure. It seems that when he is asked any tough questions, he wiggles into namby-pamby land!
Well co-host Joy Behar asked Osteen about his quasi-Christian beliefs on the matter of homosexuality. Osteen, on a previous show of the cackle-fest, commented about homosexuality not being “God’s best” for any person’s life.
Osteen, in character on tough questions, offered a tepid response. But then, Behar interrupted him and lectured him that homosexuality is natural. “It’s not a choice, Pastor,” she chided. “It’s not a choice, and therefore I don’t think that God would look askance at homosexuality in that way, because it’s not a choice. They’re born this way, people are born this way.”
Hmmm… here is the problem. Most people think that we Christians are anti-homosexual. Well, not quite… we are anti-sin.
While most people will trot out those verses that claim homosexuality is an abomination, here are a few I would like to trot out. First:
Matthew 7:3-5 – “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? (4) Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? (5)You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”
We all know about judgment and we can all quote Matthew 7:1 by heart. But perhaps what you have never read is the vereses that follow, including the above.
While I do understand the temptation that the homosexual has to contend with, there is hope! 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that there is no temptation that is not common to man. Guess what?
There is hope! That verse also says when you are tempted, God will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. Now that is a promise!
But for the rest of you… the curse under which those who commit sexual sins, in my estimation of what the bible says applies to all of us.
Yeah, read on:
Proverbs 6:16-19 – “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: (17) haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, (18) a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, (19) a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”
As I read it… we are ALL ABOMINATIONS in God’s eyes. Do you think not?
Check out Proverbs 12:22… Yup, that includes all of us. Even Ms. Behar.

Hallelujah Proclaimed inside Macy’s!
Saturday 30 October 2010, saw over 650 choristers from 28 participating organizations to perform a Knight Foundation’s ‘Random Acts of Culture.’ Brought together by the Opera Company of Philadelphia at Macy’s in Center City Philadelphia. Accompanied by the Wanamaker Organ — I know… in a department store! It is the world’s largest pipe organ, too.
The Opera Company chorus with throngs of singers from the community entered the store as shoppers, and burst into an impromptu rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s ‘Messiah’ to the delight of surprised shoppers.
What a wonderful thing to happen by surprise, and by one of the most beautiful pieces of music, too.
But the thing that gladdens my heart the most, is “Praise the Lord” rang out loud and clear in Macy’s! In MACY’S! But not only that Handel used direct quotes from the King James Version of the bible for the lyrics. It was the word of God that went forth, and it never returns void!
It is said of this song, that it will be the only song of praise written by men to be sung at the throne of God!
Hallelujah!
For the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth.
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Hallelujah!
The kingdom of this world
Is become the kingdom of our Lord,
And of His Christ, and of His Christ;
And He shall reign for ever and ever,
For ever and ever, forever and ever,
King of kings, and Lord of lords,
King of kings, and Lord of lords,
And Lord of lords,
And He shall reign,
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings, forever and ever,
And Lord of lords,
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Pastor Troy Gramling – 9 Minutes to Share 1 Thing
Hmmm… stumbled upon this today.
I got a few immediate observations and it’ll take us about 1 minute to go through them.
Look at 1 Thessalonians 5:22.
Abstain from every form of evil.
The skull and crossbones does it for me. It is not very attractive, and immediately connotes evil, it screams STAY AWAY! I know it’s popular, but these things have sinister meanings. Is this attractive and approachable, or worse, just trying to be relative to the culture?
And while we are on that subject, Romans 12:2.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Leader, especially pastors should especially heed the admonitions in scripture against conformity and evil, just saying. This includes personal decorum and MODESTY so as NOT to bring undue attention to yourself.
We have become so “seeker” sensitive, we have lost biblical discernment. (BTW Romans 3:11 says there is no such thing as a seeker.) We have forgotten to look in the mirror God gives us… His Word, and then APPLY it to our lives, including our dress!
It is an interesting case study in subtle yet evident personal pride and conformity, considering the subject of the video. This is exactly what Jesus warned us about in Matthew 24:24 and Revelation 3:17-18. There is a subtle attack on the church, and it is coming from everywhere, but the most pernicious subtlety is from the inside. Paul said this subtle attack would come from leaders in the church.
But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles. Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all things. (2 Corinthians 11:3-6)
You’ll put up with it, and before you know it, you will be led astray. Be a Berean. Look in your bibles, see to it that which these “teachers” proclaim, in thought, deed or word aligns with what the Bible says.
But good news, Jesus is proclaimed at 8:30! The question is, which Jesus?

Scientists Find Liberal Gene
Oh, great! Now they have another way to excuse their churlish behavior and naiveté!
Or is it?
"It is the crucial interaction of two factors — the genetic predisposition and the environmental condition of having many friends in adolescence — that is associated with being more liberal,” according to the study.
Most people would just read past these words… but there is a sinister tone to them. Conservatives have a mental disorder!Considering today’s deeply divided political climate and the escalation of class warfare, all things liberal are highly exalted, well usually only by liberals.
While the rest of us live by notions of honesty and hard work, there are some who would also want to benefit from that honesty and hard work, without sharing in the same. These, less than honest, ne’er-do-wells have the support of the so-called elite, those who think themselves better than the rest, whether by education, social status or wealth. Only because they can easily be trained to perform the menial tasks required to keep the gentry comfortable and entertained.
But now, with the backing of “science,” it is easy to just declare anything other than liberalism a mental disorder, as is already classified religion and belief in the supernatural. They can then, gather those “ill” conservatives and zealots in places where they can receive adequate, humane treatment.
Nah, can’t happen… or can it?
So much is done under the banner of progressivism – feminism, diversity, tolerance… don’t forget abortion, euthanasia, and eugenics. All devoted to the god of self.

Hey Minnesota, Your Democratic Representative, Betty McCollum Denies God
What is it with our elected representatives?
Why is there such a push to deny the Creator?
In my opinion, if you deny God, you must also irrationally deny absolutes. The United States is soon to be relegated to the pages of history, especially when the country is led by those who deny even the existence of God.
But, our elected officials have long ago denied the authority of God, first in their personal lives, that then influences their public life and decisions in leading the republic.
This is just a symptom and not the problem. The real problem is the authority of God needs to be present in our society. That authority is being attacked. In fact, it has been attacked for more than 100 years. The attack is on God’s word, and whether it can be trusted.
Watch as Betty McCollum, Dem – Minnesota, leads from the floor of the U.S. House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. She deletes the words “under God” from the “Pledge of Allegiance.” The representative has said in explanation she was taking a breath. You be the judge, I know what my eyes see.
The authority of God’s word still stands… some verses do not speak well, if applied to our nation.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord – Psalm 33:12a
And another…
Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord! – Psalm 144:15b
While these promises do apply to Israel directly, they do in general speak to a principal. One that has guided our founding fathers. They knew Who bestows our individual rights .
But Proverbs 14:34 hammers the principle home. It says:
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Long has righteousness departed the leadership of this nation. And our national sin is plainly evident. We have slowly removed God from almost every institution of public life. When He is gone… and government becomes God… who will then bestow rights to you?
Don’t count on the government being benevolent… the early 20th century destroys the notion of a benevolent government “god.”
As for those who would deny God… I will leave you with one sobering thought. It is one that must make us shudder with fear. It IS a promise that we can claim, because God will keep it. It is found in Mark 8:34-38, Jesus is speaking.
And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
Paul explains this section well in one sentence in 2 Timothy 2:12. He says, “if we deny him, he also will deny us.”
Good news, though, there is grace available for everyone, including Ms. McCollum. That same Jesus Who we would deny, will accept us just as we are. However, we must first repent and cling to the same God we now deny.
