Valerie Jarrett’s Ethics Waiver?
from wikipedia article:
Valerie Bowman Jarrett (born November 14, 1956) is a Chicago lawyer, businesswoman, and civic leader. She is best known for her role as an advisor to President Barack Obama. Jarrett is a Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs for the Obama administration. Prior to that she served as a co-chairperson of the Obama-Biden Transition Project.
This senior advisor to the president was responsible for the Grove Parc housing project. Needless to say, this was a government subsidized project that made big money for the people involved.
This same senior advisor just flew to Copenhagen with Michelle Obama, to be joined tomorrow by Barak, to lobby for Chicago to host the 2016 Olympics. Needless to say, the olympic venues will require a lot of space to build. This space will be provided by tearing down condemned properties, such as the government subsidized Grove Parc housing complex and other holdings of Valerie Jarret’s Habitat Company. By the way: the Grove Parc property is in the area represented by then Illinois Senator Barak Obama.
This same Senior Advisor to the President of the United States was on the short list for Barak Obama’s vacated Senate seat, before Blago went to jail. She chose instead to go with Obama to Washington DC.
Even though Barak Obama vowed to clean up corruption in Washington and vowed not to hire any lobbyist for any position in his administration, This same Valerie Jarret is on Judicial Watch’s “Ten Most Corrupt Politicians” list.
Sounds to me like “transparency in government” does not mean a whole lot to our beloved president. Maybe that is why he granted her an “ethics waiver.” I know that ethics is something that needs to be waived routinely in Chicago and Washington, so this is no big deal, right?
